As part of my road trip out to Washington, we stopped in Theodore Roosevelt National Park, henceforth TRNP. TRNP is in North Dakota, and contains badlands. I had always thought the badlands specifically referred to the South Dakota ones, but I they're actually just a specific type of land. Apparently during some rainstorms, the hills in TRNP are eroded by as much as 2 or 3 inches.
