Mount Si

2016-1-10

I went hiking with some of my friends today. We got to the trailhead at Mt. Si at about 5:30, and began the hike with our headlamps. The trail was clear of snow for the first mile or so, and the snow slowly grew deeper along the last three miles. Around 7:00 the sky was bright enough for us to hike without headlamps, and we got to the base of the haystack around 7:40 - just in time for sunrise at 7:45.

The weather at the base of the haystack was cold and windy - I would estimate temperatures around 5 degrees F including windchill. We stayed up there for about an hour before descending and getting lunch.
